Otelco to Acquire Country Road Communications
Otelco Inc. (NASDAQ: OTT; TSX: OTT.un) today announced it has entered into a Stock Purchase Agreement (the "Agreement") with Country Road Communications LLC. Country Road is a leading provider of advanced telecommunications services to the communities it serves which are located in Maine, Massachusetts and West Virginia. Pursuant to the Agreement, Otelco will acquire 100% of the outstanding capital stock of Pine Tree Holdings, Inc., Granby Holdings, Inc. and War Holdings, Inc. from Country Road.[More]

Bangor Savings Bank Links Largest Private Community Banking Network Using Mid-Maine Communications
Mid-Maine Communications (MMC), a facility and fiber-based Maine telecommunications company, announced today that it is providing high-speed broadband communication capabilities to Bangor Savings Bank, offering business, consumer/retail banking and investment management services with more than $2.2 billion in assets. Cianbro Corporation Selects Mid-Maine Communications to Provide Fiber Network Services at Brewer Manufacturing Facility
Mid-Maine Communications (MMC), a facility and fiber-based Maine telecommunications company, announced that it is providing high-speed broadband communication capabilities to Cianbro Corporation’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility now under construction in Brewer, Maine. The state-of-the-art modular construction facility will fabricate and assemble large, pre-built construction modules, some weighing more than 1,000 tons, for delivery throughout North America. Mid-Maine Communications currently is supplying the Brewer work site with basic high speed Internet and telecommunications service, but this capacity will increase dramatically to provide enhanced fiber-based communication capacity when the facility is completed later this spring. Maine labs to get faster Internet
UMS signed the first agreement with Mid-Maine Communications, saying it would lease a fiber-optic cable from the company that runs from Portland to Bangor. UMS appropriated $3 million in state funding earlier this year to lease an existing fiber-optic cable between the two cities and lay a new cable from Bangor to the Orono campus, according to a press release.
